An international artist, KATSURA MIZUMOTO is an active soloist performing in the U.S.A., Europe and Asia.
She has appeared with the Sapporo Symphony Orchestra, the Stadttheater Giessen and at a variety of music festivals including the International Piano Academy Freiburg, International Chamber Music Festival Schiermonnikoog, Kronberg Academy Festival, Kishiwada castle music Festival and the Enghien International Musical Encounters.
Her live performances have been broadcasted by Radio Hessischer Rundfunk, Radio Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk, Radio Sud West Deutsch, Fernsehen Deutsch Berlin and Radio Klara.
Katsura is a member of Esmeralda quartett, and she has been also guest with members of the Alban Berg quartett and manderling quartett, she played chambermusic with soloists Charles Neidich, Christian Altenburger and Michael Sanderling, among many other eminent figures.
A prize winner of the most renowned European piano competitions, Katsura has been awarded by the A.M.A. Calabria International Piano Competition in Italy, Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy Piano Competition in Germany, Emmanuel Durlet International Piano Competition in Belgium and the Long-Thibaud International Piano Competition in France.
After receiving an Economics Degree from the Hokkaido University in Japan, Ms. Mizumoto moved to Germany to pursue a career in music at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Frankfurt am Main where she received the 'Highest Distinction' for her B.M., M.M. and Soloist's Diploma. From 2002-2009, Katsura was teaching at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Frankfurt am Main and is now Assistant Professor at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels.
